Bill Lemon

Bill Lemon

Bill Lemon was born and raised on a cattle ranch in Zimbabwe, a life he continued to pursue and enjoy to finally achieve a lifetime dream of owning his own ranch. Unfortunately it was a dream short-lived, as he became one of the victims of land designation in Zimbabwe. He was a member of the Special Forces during the bush war and was a keen sportsman who excelled in the discipline of rugby at which he represented his country from 1970 to 1980.

Bill was part of a small band of hunters who, in the early seventies, in conjunction with National Parks, was tasked with the responsibility of eradicating thousands of Buffalo in the South East and West of the country in an attempt to control 'hoof and mouth'.

Bill is an active member of the Hunter's Association, involving himself in educational and proficiency test camps for learner hunters. In 1999, he was the recipient of the prestigious 'Professional Hunter of the Year' award. He also holds the title for the biggest lion shot in 2002 and for the biggest leopard shot in 2008. He is a full time professional hunter both in Zimbabwe and South Africa. He is a member of the Safari Club International and the Zimbabwe Professional Hunter's and Guides Association, Dallas Safari Club and PHASA.

Barbara Blaylock

Barbara was born in Natal, South Africa where she grew up on an Equestrian estate, training and breaking in horses. She continued on with her love for farming and the outdoors. This yearning spurred Barbara onto the bigger challenges of the outdoor world. Barbara excelled in the discipline of Dressage and represented her province, Natal as a member of their Dressage Team. Barbara Dedicated her spare time to counseling drug addicts, alcoholics and to abused women and children. This she did from a Crisis Centre in Howick, Natal.

Her chance meeting and introduction to Bill Lemon revived her yearning to be back in the outdoors. Bill encouraged her to undergo a professional hunter’s course and to become an active Professional Hunter. Barbara proved to be proficient in all aspects of the course and achieved the honour of being the top markswomen in a group of 12 men. Under the guidance of Bill Lemon she honed all her hunting skills and has now qualified as a Big Game Professional Hunter. Barbara is now an integral part of the Bill Lemon Safari Team and has conducted several hunts in her own capacity.

Barbara is a member of Safari Club International and Professional Hunters Association of South Africa.
